Restoration & appraisal
An old violin, viola or cello — inherited or found in the attic — deserves a second life, if the wood and construction allow it. In our Reghin workshop we assess and restore bowed instruments with the same care we put into building a new one.
What we restore
- Cracks and openings in the top or back
- Repairs to the neck, fingerboard and bridge
- Restoration or retouching of the original varnish
- Replacement of worn fittings — tailpiece, chinrest, nut, bridge
- Complete setup: sound, action, intonation
How the assessment works
Photographs
You send us a few clear photos of the instrument — front, back, ribs and any visible defects.
Diagnosis
We examine the condition of the wood, the varnish and the structure, and tell you honestly what can and cannot be repaired.
Estimate
You receive an estimate of time and cost, with no obligation — the decision remains entirely yours.
We don't promise fixed prices without seeing the instrument — every repair is different. What we do promise: an honest assessment and the same care as for a new instrument.
